The image above is easy. There is only a choise between black and white. Because of that simplicity, it's tempting to simplify all decisions like that: White - Black, Buy - Sell, Grow - Shrink, Good - Bad. By dividing everyting into two group, two groups with the same meaning will emerge: White = Buy - Grow = Good and Black = Sell = Shrink = Bad.

The world isn't Black and White. There are unlimited shades of gray between black and white. Even worse, what is called white in the first picture, is because of the limitations of this medium actually light gray. White fundementalists won't even call it white. They only recognise the white of the latest generation washing powder, that wash whiter than white. The more liberal will call it white. But they will keep quarreling about the limit. The black fundementalists are like wise.

Just like between black and white, there are infinite levels between all other issues. It's impossible to buy everything, at one moment you've run out of money. The opposite, selling everything, is also impossible. Some things you just have to have, so you can't sell them. Good commerce is a balance between selling and buying. Growth is likewise, seed has to grow, but if grow doesn't stop, it's called cancer. We can claim this true for everything.

Next to an infinite shades of gray, also infinite colours exists. In the picture below all colours of the rainbow are shown. Interesting is that the red can be found on both the left as the right side of the spectrum. This occures on more places. Extreme East is equal to extreem West (180 degrees west is the same place as 180 degrees east) and Doug Muder explanes in Terrorist Strategy 101 why George Walker Bush and Osama Bin Laden are allies.

At the other site of the extremist spectrum, are people that don't express there opinions. Neither you can tell the difference between these kind of people. If we add to the rainbow picture, to the vertical axis, the level of extremicy. The last image of this article will arise. The top and botom, both extreme sides of extremism, is boring. In the moderate part, the middle, we find the most beautiful colours.

So the title of this piece is to extreme. Sorry. Long live the moderate!
