Configuration

Some of the configurations are already executed by the installers, but unfortunately not all.

Extend the path

Extend the path to the directories where the tools are located, by adding the following lines to the C:\autoexec.bat file:
path=%path%;c:\PalmStuff\PRC-Tools\H-i586-cygwin32\bin
path=%path%;c:\PalmStuff\pilrc-2.5c

Mount the development environment

Start the Cygwin envionment. The installer of Cygwin has put an icon on your desktop and in the start menu.
Make the mount point: mkdir /PalmDev
Mount the development directory: mount D:\\program\\PalmDev /PalmDev
Note the slashes. UNIX uses forward slashes (/), DOS backslashes (\). The backslash is the escape charakter in UNIX, you need to type two backslashes to enter a DOS slash. Note the difference between DOS backslashes (\) and UNIX forward slashes (/) You can check if the mount has succeeded with the mount command (without arguments). You will see something line this:
 Device           Directory           Type        Flags
 C:               /                   native      text!=binary
 c:\cygnus\cygwin-b20\H-i586-cygwin32\bin /bin                native      text!=binary
 D:\PalmDev       /PalmDev            native      text!=binary

The last line indicates that D:\PalmDev is accessable as /PalmDev. You only have to execute the mount command only once, the mounts are saved in the registery. If you want to unmount a directory, you can use the umount command. To unmount de /PalmDev directory for example, type: umount /PalmDev

Link SDK

Goto the (mounted) /PalmDev directory: cd /PalmDev
Create a symbolic link to the SDK you want to use: ln -s sdk-2 sdk
For compatibility reasons you are advised to use SDK 2 as your default SDK.
